About Stina
"Surprising, impressive, touching the heart" (Gaesteliste.de 08.07.2022)
Stina Holmquist's songs transport you to warm summer nights and touch your soul and heart in equal measure. Together with her band and producer Alex Sprave (Fil Bo Riva, Luke Noa), she develops modern, timeless indie pop music that creates its very own sound and is reflected in a combination of warm indie and atmospheric sounds.
Having grown up in the noisy Ruhr area, Stina Holmquist has Swedish roots. The love of both and at the same time the feeling of never being at home in just one place develop an energy that is fuelled by longing, daydreaming and constant rediscovery. Perhaps this is the starting point and at the same time the mixture that leads to the deep emotions in every Holmquist song and touches so many of us.
In addition to her concerts throughout Germany, she has already been on stage as a support act for indie bands Giant Rooks and Leoniden, played festival shows, was nominated for the popNRW award for ‘Best Newcomer’ and won the Lalla:Labor sponsorship award.
Stina's lyrics are so true, so honest, so deep and yet always leave unfiltered hope shimmering on the surface. She tells stories that are deeply rooted in pop music and yet they are rarely performed in such a fresh and revitalising way. An equally melancholic and yet hopeful, comforting indie dream. Modern pop music that takes us out of our everyday lives and creates space to deal with fears that we all don't want to let go of.
"Her persona is so approachable, so real - she could probably sing whatever she wants. Whoever listens to Stina will feel with her." (Strobo, 15/11/2023)
"You get the feeling that this was just the beginning of something big" (Westzeit 01/09/2022)
