About Stina

"Surprising, impressive, touching the heart" (Gaesteliste.de)

Together with her band, Stina Holmquist crafts modern yet timeless indie pop, defined by a sound that is uniquely her own. Warm, atmospheric layers are often broken by unexpected bursts of energy, creating a dynamic and deeply emotional listening experience.

Raised in the noisy Ruhr area with Swedish roots in her family, Stina embodies a love for both, yet never feels like being at home in just one place. This tension gives rise to an inner energy, fuelled by longing, daydreaming, and a constant process of rediscovery. It is this emotional landscape that forms the foundation of Holmquist’s music - one that resonates so powerfully with listeners.

After three intense years and over 150 live shows, Stina has already reached significant milestones in her artistic journey. Alongside her own concerts across Germany and neighbouring countries, she has supported German indie greats like Giant Rooks and Leoniden, played acclaimed festivals such as Reeperbahn, Traumzeit, Orange Blossom, and Juicy Beats, received a popNRW nomination for Best Newcomer, and won the Lalla:Labor sponsorship award. In October 2025, WDR Rockpalast will present Stina Holmquist live with Cari Cari in Bonn.

Her second EP, If All My Hopes Find Answers, is set for release in fall 2025, produced by Alex Sprave (Fil Bo Riva) and Jochen Naaf (Giant Rooks).

Stina's lyrics are so true, so honest, so deep and yet always leave unfiltered hope shimmering on the surface. They tell stories that are deeply rooted in pop music, and yet they are rarely performed with this much depth and poetry. Her songs may carry melancholy, but they’re equally filled with strength, comfort, and the quiet courage to hold space for our most vulnerable truths. This is modern pop music that gently lifts us out of everyday life and gives us space to deal with fears that we all don't want to let go of.

“Her persona is so approachable, so real – she could probably sing whatever she wants. Anyone who listens to Stina can’t help but feel with her.”  (Strobo)

"You get the feeling that this was just the beginning of something big" (Westzeit)
